Half
Marathon and Drop Top 10K - June xx Map of the course Marathon position details Two operators will be stationed at each aid stop, there are 7, not including the start\finish line. Ideally at least one of the operators should be either first aid/or CERT trained. We will also be placing an operator with the ambulance. Amateur radio will be used for course communication, but if you have one, bring a FRS with you to communicate within your aid location. We will be asking for volunteers from the local CERT community as well as ARES Please bring the following: • 2M hand held radio with ear plug or head phone • Layered clothing, it can be cool in the morning, but heats up fast, assuming it is not raining • Sun screen • Hat • Snacks, lunch is provided at the stadium after your station closes down • First aid kit (optional) • FRS (optional) Ambulance chaser will also need an external antenna for whatever radio they are using. Also, if there is enough interest I would like to add the following: A bike equipped with APRS to first pace the initial runners, and then to follow the last walkers to the finish line. The biker would end up riding the course twice, unless there are two volunteers. If there is a bike, then we will need an APRS display at the finish line Event Website....... 4th of
July Parade - Since 1926, the Hillsboro Rotary Club has been producing the annual 4th of July Parade for the community. Over the years our 'little' parade has grown to become the second largest parade in the State of Oregon! Our local parade also has the distinction of being the oldest, continually produced 4th of July Parade on the West coast! Thank you to the community for showing your support! The recent parade had over 150 registered participants, with an estimate 25,000 people coming to enjoy the days festivities. Contact Lee - KD7ZAF for info........ |
